Peridot

Peridot’s ability to shine vividly even in lamplight also earned it the title and status of ‘the evening Emerald’. Whilst Peridot is fairly common, larger specimens can be rare and thus more valuable. It is often found in volcanic rocks and is sometimes mined from meteorites that have fallen to Earth. Its green colour comes from the presence of iron in its crystal structure.

In ancient times, peridot was believed to ward off evil spirits and was also thought to bring the wearer confidence, power, and general good luck. Today, it is still seen as a symbol of prosperity and good fortune.
